Month of Macro: Sephora shopping

It is no secret that I love Sephora.

And I recently renewed my love interest with the make-up superstore during a quick visit the other day. I actually pass a Sephora on my walk to and from work each day, and it is a HUGE testament to my willpower that I don't stop in to go shopping more often than I already do!

So on my recent visit, I picked up this adorable bottle of perfume.

Not only did it smell wonderful, but it came packaged in the cutest little box!

And bottle itself is decoupaged with abstract floral accents.

So cute, right?

I also picked up a new palette of eye shadows.

I don't know about you, but I love the possibilities that come with a pristine set of shadows...

And with this particular package full of sparkly and matte choices...

I know I'll have some make-up fun in the upcoming days and weeks!

Thanks for joining me for this up-close look at my make-up! I hope you have a great day!

Pretty polish, please!

I like nail polish. I mean, I really like it!

This probably isn't a surprise to many of you- I've talked about nail polish in three separate posts over the last year... egads! And while I love my regular brands (OPI, Sephora by OPI, and Essie), I also enjoy trying new ones! So when I read an article about Inglot a while back, I just had to check it out!
Inglot is a Polish make-up brand, and they sell everything from eyeshadow to lipstick... and they happen to have a fun little store in NYC! So the other day I stopped by, and was immediately drawn to the nail polish wall... can you blame me?
I tried to be reasonable, so I walked out with just a tiny little bag...
Filled with two kinds of Inglot's signature nail polish!
First up, 706! Not only is this great shade a matte finish, but it's also toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and camphor FREE! Considering that I wear nail polish all the time, the idea of using a polish with less chemicals really appealed to me!
I also purchased a bottle of O2M 634. (The information I read about this particular product was what brought me into the store in the first place.) You see, O2M polishes are made from a new polymer that was originally designed for use in contact lenses. Not only are the yucky chemicals still missing, but the new polymer increases the oxygen permeability of the varnish (meaning air can get through the paint to my nails) and it reduces the film tightness (which means my nails feel more natural). Isn't that cool?
Of course, I had to try out the O2M polish right away. And while it does feel different from my other polishes when dry (it's not as slick to the touch), the color is quite nice and I haven't gotten a chip yet!
Thanks for sharing in my nail polish excitement- I hope you had a really fun weekend!

A tiny bag full of happiness

It's no secret that I love Sephora (remember this, this, or this?)... so it should come as no surprise that I made time to do a little shopping recently.
This trip to my make-up Mecca was a necessity. First, I had to pick up Smith's newest Rosebud Salve.
My favorite lip gloss, which has been sold in tin jars for generations, has recently been released in a special tube! I'm so excited to have this new product in my purse! (And yes- this is my second post about lip gloss in just over a year... obsessed much?)
In addition to the new gloss, I also picked up some L'Occitane hand lotion.
This lotion does wonders for my hands- it's so rich!
As you can see by that mangled tube on the right, I was desperately in need of a new container!
And while the lotion is great, the lavender scent is AMAZING! Every time I rub this lotion into my hands, I'm immediately transported...
To the lavender fields in Provence, France! My family spent some time in Avignon a few summers ago, and when we drove out to Provence I'll never forget how amazing all those lavender blossoms smelled as they bloomed under the summer sun! And this lotion takes me back there with just one whiff!
Thank you for stopping by- I hope you have a great day!

Thank you Mr. Mailman!

Earlier today, my mailman brought me a box full of goodies!
Last week I heard of a really great deal on Sephora.com, so I stocked up on some goodies and scored from freebies in the process! For example, this little package of Clinique products will be perfect for my suitcase (especially when I have to lug my baggage through the x-ray machines)!
I also got this little trial-sized packages of lotions and stuff!
And though the freebies were great, I was way more excited about the things I had actually ordered!
These palettes of Stila make-up were so cute on the outside...
But the product inside was so pretty I had to order them!
And at only $10 a piece...
It was such a good deal I couldn't resist!
And to round out my purchase (and qualify for free shipping), I chose these eye shadows from Too Faced.
Aren't they lovely? I like the "au naturel" look, and this box was full of just that!
(Plus, I loved the funny little names of the colors.)
But there was more to this little package than met the eye:
Yep- those little cards in the lid are full of instructions for creating different "looks"! (Oh, and they are in English- I just had one flipped to the French side for some reason...)
Well, I'm going to go play with my new make-up! Thank you for stopping by- I hope you have a great day!
