Inglot is a Polish make-up brand, and they sell everything from eyeshadow to lipstick... and they happen to have a fun little store in NYC! So the other day I stopped by, and was immediately drawn to the nail polish wall... can you blame me?
I tried to be reasonable, so I walked out with just a tiny little bag...
Filled with two kinds of Inglot's signature nail polish!
First up, 706! Not only is this great shade a matte finish, but it's also toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and camphor FREE! Considering that I wear nail polish all the time, the idea of using a polish with less chemicals really appealed to me!
I also purchased a bottle of O2M 634. (The information I read about this particular product was what brought me into the store in the first place.) You see, O2M polishes are made from a new polymer that was originally designed for use in contact lenses. Not only are the yucky chemicals still missing, but the new polymer increases the oxygen permeability of the varnish (meaning air can get through the paint to my nails) and it reduces the film tightness (which means my nails feel more natural). Isn't that cool?
Of course, I had to try out the O2M polish right away. And while it does feel different from my other polishes when dry (it's not as slick to the touch), the color is quite nice and I haven't gotten a chip yet!

It's true- I needed to pick up a special bag of very tasty, candy-coated chocolate the other day...
So I headed down to Times Square...
And started filling bags with these tasty candies!
I know it's not the most traditional errand in the world... but it sure was fun!

So I whipped out my camera (of course)...
Not only because I like taking photos in the snow...
But I like to take photos of the billboards hanging in Times Square every now and then.
I imagine that someday, I can look back on these photos and remember what was fashionable/going on while I lived in NYC.
I know it seems silly...
But I like looking at old photos of Times Square from the 1950's and 1960's...
And now, when I'm old, I'll have my own cache of snapshots to reminisce over someday!

I was out and about, and decided to stop by one of the most famous spots in NYC. I like to take a stroll through every now and then, just to see what's going on.
I usually try and stay away from this area, since it is often so congested- but I also like to people watch... and I think the TKTS stairs are the perfect spot to do just that!
There's always so much happening in this part of town. For example, within 2 blocks I stumbled across 4 "characters". I don't really understand who these people are, as they weren't affiliated with any stores or promotions as far as I could tell... so I was a little creeped out!
Oh, and you know what else I like to do when I'm in Times Square?
I like to take pictures of the advertisements. I know it may sound weird, but they change so often... it's kind of neat to have a memento of what was "in" and "popular" on a certain date! In that vein, here's a little collage of what's adorning Times Square these days:

One of the errands took me to 45th Street...
And in order to get home...
I had to cut through a very famous landmark.
Times Square!
I only had to go two blocks...
But there sure was a lot of stuff to take pictures of!
If you haven't been to NYC in a while, then this might come as a surprise: the city has closed off portions of the street and converted them to pedestrian areas, complete with cafe tables and chairs.
And while the pedestrian areas are new, the billboards and lights have been there for years...
Even if the items they're advertising change with startling frequency!
Last year the TKTS booth was finally finished, and now all kinds of people can walk up these red stairs...
And enjoy some pretty incredible views. This is one of my favorites- doesn't it make you want to spend your whole paycheck on tickets to Broadway shows? (No? Maybe it's just me, then!)
A block to the west, you can find the Hershey and M&M stores... yum!
And though I've lived here for a few years...
I never get tired of this!
