Etsy excitement!

I received a much anticipated package in the mail yesterday.
When I get home, I tore open the envelope and withdrew the treasure, folded within striped tissue paper.
Upon unwrapping the tissue, I was thrilled to see this beautiful package.
And after untying the raffia...
I could confirm that my order from Bittersweet Bric a Brac had arrived!
Bittersweet Bric a Brac is an etsy.com site that the sells the most beautiful handmade jewelry made out of felted wool and beads. (And I happen to know the artist quite well...)
There are lots of earrings and broaches to choose from on the site, but these blue flowers really caught my eye!
All of the items on the site are made by hand, and each design is unique. In addition, the craftsmanship on these earrings is incredible: the detail on the flowers is impeccable! I'm so glad the package finally arrived, and I can't wait to wear them tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by- I hope you have a great day!

Too bad I can only wear two at a time...

I'm not really a morning person. In fact, I can sometimes even be described as surly (but only on rare occasions). And while I may be grumpy as I roll out of bed every once in a while, there are some things that are sure to put a smile on my face each A.M... and this lucite box is just one of those things!
At that angle it's kind of a jumble, but do you know what I'm talking about?
It's my earring organizer!!
I'm telling you, this thing has changed my life. As you can tell, I own a lot of earrings- and this handy organizer (from the Container Store), keeps them all sorted and untangled.
I'm not sure if you can tell, but there are little holes drilled into the plastic, so the earring posts slip right in.
And the lucite dividers slip right out of the organizer for easy access to the perfect pair!
The organizer has 5 plastic dividers, and I have over 100 pairs of earrings "filed away" and there's still room to grow!
I'm sure it sounds silly, but shuffling through all these pretty and colorful baubles each morning definitely brightens my day!
Thank you for stopping by- I hope you have a wonderful day!

What a night...

I dragged myself home a few hours ago...
You see, it was quite an evening! Our show opened yesterday night, and after the curtain came down there was a reception...
And boy did I have fun! Not only was the performance AMAZING, but I got to wear a fancy dress, high heels, sparkly jewelry... and I was just doing my job!
But now I'm tired and all I want to do it stay in bed all day! But since that's not an option, I plan on pulling myself together and schlepping myself into work. And while it may be tough to stay awake, the excitement from last night will certainly carry me through the day!

Thanks for stopping by- I hope you have a great day (and I'll post the reviews as soon as they're out)!

A bit of sparkle...

On Saturday I got up bright and early...
And made my way down to SoHo for a little shopping excursion.
You see, my coworker has been telling me about this jewelry designer she came across a few years ago. So she took me to The Market.
The market is actually an old gymnasium full of artisans from all over NYC.
And while this photo is a terrible representation, the designer we were there to visit had an amazing table full of beautiful treasures!
Of course I left with a tiny bag full of accessories- want to see what I took home? The first thing I picked out were these earrings. My family loves ginkgo trees, so when I saw these I immediately added them to my pile. Not only were they reasonably priced ($4 with the "friend" discount thanks to my co-worker's relationship with the designer), but they were eco-friendly! The designer dismantled the leaves from a pair of gaudy, vintage clip-on earrings she found. Then she soldered and hammered them into these sparkly little numbers- aren't they fun and season appropriate?
I also nabbed these, which I lovingly refer to as "the kidney earrings".
How about these dangle-y babies?
Aren't the striations on the medallions interesting?
And while I had planned on purchasing only earrings, I couldn't resist this ring.
Isn't it fun?
But my favorite find of the day was this pair- aren't they perfect?
I just love that color- especially with a bit of back light!
As you can tell, I had a pretty productive weekend, jewelry-wise!
If you're ever in SoHo, I highly recommend stopping by Jennifer's table- you won't regret it!
Thank you for visiting- I hope you have a great weekend!

Packing up for a long day

I'm not exactly a morning person, so I like to pack the items I'll need for the day the night before. Most Sunday nights I'm busy packing a lunch or paperwork I've done over the weekend... but last night was different.
Last night I packed up my favorite peep-toe heels...
And a pair of sparkly earrings for an event I'm attending at work today. I have to admit, I love the fact my job requires me to attend fancy dinners and performances!
Tonight's event is a pretty big deal, so I even stopped by my local nail salon for a quick manicure.
Of course, I picked another one of the OPI: Swiss collections: Yodel Me On My Cell...
Isn't it pretty?
Well, I'd better get going- it's going to be a long day! I hope you had a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
