GIVEAWAY: Snack Time!!
Over the last few months, I've shared a lot about myself.
But I'm not sure I covered my weakness for clever packaging. Whenever I see a nifty product tag or a snazzy container, I'll want to buy... and sometimes I won't care what's inside. Now pair that with my love of NYC, and I'm toast!
So when a local drug store started selling this new brand of snacks, I knew I was a gonner!
Get a load of THAT! Let's look at the peanuts first:
First, the company names their flavors in the cutest way- like Nuttin' Honey!
And then they turn the bar code into artwork and place it on the front of the package!
And to top it all off- inside are the yummiest looking peanuts I ever did see!
Not to be outdone, how about the pistachios?
Of course they're seasoned with sea salt and cracked pepper... this is NYC people!
And the packaging on this one cracks me up- see how the window to the nuts is actually a story in the New York Times? Just below the picture, the byline reads: NYC GOES NUTS!
The performer in me loves the dried fruit.
Ooooh... premium...
And to showcase these show stoppers, a lovely stage and curtain!
There are also mini bags of snacks... like sunflower seeds!
Don't you love the bar code on this one? Lady Liberty!
But my favorite one of all is the Nut Raisin Trail Mix.
Energy mix for city survival... doesn't everyone need that now and then?
Plus, this is my favorite bar code: it's the elevated subway!
And if you aren't as impressed with the packages as I am, check out what's in that yummy bag o' energy mix:
After all that hype, wouldn't you like to tear into these cute little bags?
Well here's your chance!
I'm going to give away all these bags of snacks to one lucky winner! To enter, just leave a comment on this post, telling me your favorite New York City landmark. Please leave your comment by Thursday (Jan. 28th) at 8 pm EST, and I'll post the winner next Friday morning!

Giveaway WINNER!
Today I got to find out who won the Penzeys spices from my first giveaway.
So I whipped out my trusty red bucket, which might also be the bucket I got when feeding the animals at the farm. Then I wrote down every commentor's name on a slip of paper.
I folded them up and placed them all in the bucket.
After a violent shake, I drew the winning name.
Congratulations Karla!
Karla, please send me an email (steinwaystreetny@gmail.com) to let me know your mailing address. And to everyone else, thank you for participating! I had so much fun reading all your comments- now I want to have giveaways all the time!
But wait- I have one more thing to share with you. Remember the other day, when I was talking about how I didn't know what to do with my Halloween pumpkin? After reading the comment on that post, and a little encouragement from my mom, I did something a little silly! Since my backyard is a wild, jungle-y mess...
I decided to just throw my pumpkin out the window. It was so fun- and I think you can consider it composting!
Thanks for stopping by today- have a great Wednesday!

My first GIVEAWAY!
Remember when SFS and I went shopping in the Market at Grand Central Terminal?
Well, I haven't told you about the best stall yet!
Penzeys Spices are the best spices... EVER! Started in Wisconsin as a family spice store in 1957, Bill Penzey began a mail order business out of his parents' store a few years later. Since then, the company has grown to 30 stores across the country. My family in Michigan shops at Penzeys all the time. And lucky for me- they just happen to have a stall here in NYC!
Check out all those spices- over 250 different choices in jars of all shapes and sizes.
Not only are the spices fresh and of the highest quality- but they are also affordable!
I usually go hog-wild when I shop in this store, and last week was no exception.
But on top of the goodies I bought for myself...
I bought some spice for MY VERY FIRST GIVEAWAY!
I've been wanting to try a giveaway for a long time, not only to share something I love, but to thank you for reading my blog! So today, on my 150th post, I am giving away these Penzeys Spices:
First, the India Tellicherry Peppercorns. I use this pepper on everything- it has an exotic, spicy flavor that works on anything!
Some Penzeys Spices come with little stories on the label.
I'm also giving away a jar of Herbes de Provence. This blend not only smells amazing, but can be used on poultry, beef, pork, or even potatoes!
Another great thing about Penzeys is that they include recipe suggestions on their labels- how handy is that?
And finally, I'm giving away a jar of Sweet Curry.
If you're new to curry, this is the perfect starter for you. Try it on chicken, or make it into a marinade for a green salad!
To enter yourself for this giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post. You can tell me which spice you'll use first if you win... or you can tell me how much you love Penzeys already... the possibilities are ENDLESS!
Just make sure you leave a comment for me by Tuesday at midnight EST, because you need these in your kitchen:
