My name is Abigayl. It's pretty traditional, but I realize it also includes an interesting spelling. As you can probably imagine, I've endured my fair share of misspellings over the years. But I must say that my friends at Starbucks really take the cake when it comes to butchering my name.
Which is pretty ironic, because when I pay for my drinks, I pay using a personalized Starbucks card that has my name printed on it... and it's even spelled correctly!
So that fact that my lovely barristas still mangle those few letters into sounds somewhat resembling my moniker just cracks me up!
Thanks for visiting- I hope you have a great weekend!

So long discount!
Ever since I've been working on the Upper West Side, I've visited Starbucks on my way to the office each day. Luckily, I made quick friends with my local baristo*... so what may have become a terribly expensive addiction ended up being free (or majorly discounted) most days!!
Well, my trip down easy street has ended because today was my baristo's last day at the Sbux because he found himself a new job at a fancy restaurant in the neighborhood. So while I'm happy for him, I'm sad for my wallet... and my dangerous addiction to chai lattes!
So, here's to you, Mr. Baristo- thanks for everything!
Thanks for stopping by- I hope you have a great day!
*That's a term I just coined for a male barista, because even though I know this isn't the case in Italian, the 'a' at the end of that word makes me think it's referring to a woman who makes my coffee... like "bravo" vs. "brava"- you know what I mean?

Reason #5829 why I like going to Starbucks
Every evening, my co-worker and I run out for a treat at Starbucks to get us through the rehearsals and meetings we have to attend every night. There's usually quite a line, and we enjoy a brief break from the office bantering about the day's events and joking about the Marshmallow Dream Bars. (You see, they're really Rice Krispie treats. But if you ask for a rice krispie treat, the barista get's all huffy and explains that they're MARSHMALLOW DREAM BARS... it's hilarious!)
Anyway, as the line we were in made it's way closer to the counter, my co-worker started punching me on the arm whispering "It's DWIGHT SCHRUTE" over and over! I turned around and saw nothing. But after a few more punches, guess who I spotted?
It turns out that Rainn Wilson was standing in line just behind us. Can you believe it?
We love The Office, so we were pretty stoked! That's one exciting thing about living in the city (and just one more reason to love Starbucks)... you never know who you'll run into!

I am one spoiled girl!
As you know, I celebrated a birthday on Saturday (thank you to everyone who left sweet comments on my blog over the weekend)! I was thrilled to hear from so many of my family and friends... and I made out like a bandit in the gift department.
Case in point, look at what Starbucks gave me:
That's right- they bought me a chai latte... wasn't that thoughtful?
Meanwhile, Sephora went all out...
They picked out this eyeliner, mascara, and eye shadow just for me!
And if that wasn't good enough, I got some other really great/thoughtful presents from my family and friends. I felt totally spoiled when my birthday came to a close! Thank you to everyone- it was a marvelous day!
Oh, and before I go, can share one more thing?
That's right- I also got a new lens for my camera. I had so much fun playing with it over the weekend! Here's a taste of what this baby can do:
I know- I'm smitten! I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well- thank you for stopping by!

Bright, sunshine-y day!
Wowza- it's a beautiful day here in NYC! The sun is WAY out, there's a beautiful breeze coming through my open window at work, and I get to have diner with SFS tonight... what could be better? So far, it's shaping up to be a lovely Wednesday!
Plus, I treated myself to Starbucks this morning. I've been getting so many iced teas these days, I decided to go back to the old standard: Chai! Do you want to see what can make me SO happy?
Ahhh... wonderful, isn't it? (Please ignore my nails... I haven't had a mani in AGES!)
But do you know what can totally make me sad?
Awww... so depressing, right? :) At least there's consolation in knowing it was SO good while it lasted!
And on a lighter note, I have yet another thing to aspire to when I "grow-up"...
Isn't that amazing? I was at Fishs Eddy this weekend, and this was just one of their fantastic displays. I tell you, going in that store is hazardous to my bank account! I think that all these cake plates, displayed like that, is absolutely beautiful! Hmm... now that I have 5 of my own, I'm well on my way to a collection like that... right? Happy Wednesday everyone!
