Ready for a close up? Or twenty?

It is no secret that I like to take pictures.
And on our trip to Williamsburg over the holiday weekend, my family and I took a lot of pictures. We captured architecture, decorations, landscapes, and a variety of other special moments throughout our trip.
But not all of our photos were serious... in fact, some were downright silly!
When my family gets together, we have a lot of fun, which was pretty apparent in some of the goofier pictures we took.
For example, throughout the weekend, my little brother perfected his "creepy" pose...
He did it in restaurants...
At museums...
And in pictures with my mom!
But when he wanted to, he could take a great photo! Isn't he a cutey?
Now, you're probably wondering where he learned those camera antics... and to be honest, you don't have to look very far to figure it out:
Isn't my mom funny? I had a blast taking all those pictures- and she's a really good sport for letting me share them with the world!
And as the self-admitted ham of the family, I'm no stranger to posing for pictures!
Even though I tend to ruin pictures because I'm messing with my hair...
Sometimes they turn out okay!
And although my dad doesn't like to pose for endless photos like the rest of us...
He sure can take a good one!
And finally, I have to show you some Christmas card rejects. One of our goals every Thanksgiving is to capture a photo for my parent's Christmas card. While we usually get at least one good one, we have lots of fun taking the "maybes"!
Luckily, we snagged a decent photo early on in our vacation (don't worry, this isn't it)...
So we could afford to be a little silly later on!
Well folks, that's about it for my Thanksgiving photos. Thank you so much for stopping by- I've loved reading all your comments! I hope you're having a great Tuesday!

Look what I got!

The other day, my friend Joanne surprised me with a Blog Award! Wasn't that nice? So now I get to share 10 things about me... are you ready?

#1: I was on the drumline in my college marching band... I played the cymbals! #2: I love it when my family wears matching pajamas on Christmas.
#3: I lived in Texas for two years while I attended graduate school.
#4: Growing up my mom took a picture of me on the first day of school every year... and I still take pictures of myself on important "first" days (like my first day at a new job).
#5: I talk really loud, especially when I'm excited!
#6: When my parents were pregnant with my little brother, I wanted them to name him "Patches" after my babysitter's dog. They didn't listen to me...
#7: I love Vernors pop, but cannot buy it in NYC... so my family actually mails bottles of it to me!
#8: I took a cake decorating class once, where I learned how to sculpt tiny, little fruits and veggies out of marzipan!
#9: My little brother and I travelled to Hawaii a couple years ago, and it was one of the best vacations I've ever taken!
#10: I got to meet and sing for Julie Andrews once.
It was the BEST day!
Wow- that was kind of fun! Now I'd like to pass this award onto Sue, whose blog is full of beautiful pictures from all over the world! Thanks for stopping by- have a great Wednesday!

Last look at Reunion

Ok, I promise- this is the LAST post about my family reunion. For the record, my dad and I took a few hundred photos, so it's been really tough trying to figure out which pictures make the blog. I normally don't post on Saturdays, but I couldn't resist adding these last few...

First, here's a great picture of my Aunt JVL.
And one of EMVR... she and her hubby are expecting their first baby in February!
I really like this one of Aunt JV- she's so fun! She has a drawer at reunion (and also at her house) called "The Candy Drawer". It's stocked with an array of sweets- and if you finish your dinner, you're allowed to visit the drawer. I tell you, when I was a kid, visiting that drawer was a MAGICAL trip!
Family reunion is all about hanging out, visiting, talking, and getting to know each other. I think that this picture is a perfect example of how we spend time- smushed together on a picnic table!
This one of DTV is a hoot- so mischievous!
And I have NO idea what Aunt TMV is talking about... but I love this shot!
One night at dinner, our dessert was a "Make Your Own Sunday". The servers had put the ice cream toppings on the table at the beginning of the meal, and RMV dove right in. First, the nuts...
And then, you guessed it...
Yep- chocolate sauce! And before dinner, too!
I really like this photo of my dad, even though it's a weird angle.
My dad snapped this one of AA and SS... I think they were looking at a text on a cell phone or something...
And my dad took this- I was just sitting there, hamming it up, but it looks like a goofy headshot, right?
And BTV... this makes me giggle!
This one has got to be one of my favorites from the week. Uncle PV came to compare HIS tummy to KRV's baby bump!
TT came to help me upload photos on a rainy afternoon... you should SEE the word documents this kid can create!
I hope Uncle LN doesn't get mad about this one, but it's TOO funny!
My aunt bought some candy and bubblegum cigarettes when we were in town, and she offered them to family members throughout the week. It was a pretty funny, since not many family members actually smoke! I think Uncle LN was so caught up in his book that he forgot he had a bubblegum 'smoke' hanging from his lip!

My dad snagged this great family shot... I just love it!
At a mid-week trip to Kmart, we were delighted to find that AA actuallly MATCHED the beer!
I love the line-up on this one!
These boys (JPV and JV) are going to be tall, just like their dads!
Here are the 4 patriarchs of the family reunion- my grandpa is the one in green.
This is a shot of my immediate family: my grandpa, his sons and their families.
This one needs a little more explaining. Have you seen any of the SNL skits about Gilly? After my aunt told us about them and we watched a few on Hulu, we were hooked! So, this shot is our tribute to Gilly! (Sorry!)
I had a wonderful week- I can't wait to see everyone in two years!
