A lovely afternoon!
Yesterday, I was telling you how I visited Roosevelt Island over the weekend.
After I walked along the water for a while...
I came across this little section of amphitheater-type seating. This lovely little area faces Manhattan- doesn't it look like an inviting spot to hang out? So I grabbed a seat...
And pulled out a bottle of water and a new book- the perfect accessories for a sunny afternoon!
Talk about the perfect way to waste a few hours! I mean, check out this view:
And as if that wasn't cool enough, there was a lot of activity to enjoy on the river. Like this awesome barge- I think the guy walking by was pretty impressed, too!
(Sorry- I couldn't help but post that picture... I know it's not a beautiful shot, but it cracks me up for some weird reason! It's like the guy is trying to race the boat or something...)
Thanks for stopping by and suffering through some more photos of R.I.- I promise I'll post about something new tomorrow! Have a wonderful day!

Island hopping... the NYC way!
This weekend, I decided to take a bit of an adventure: I took the F Train to Roosevelt Island.
Roosevelt Island is a little island in the East River between Manhattan and Queens.
The island is only 2 miles long, and runs from 46th to 85th Street along Manhattan.
Besides offering an amazing view of the Queensboro Bridge, the island has an amazing pedestrian path that runs along the river.
It is such a beautiful area- I couldn't stop taking pictures.
As you might expect, there were quite a few boats on the river...
And boy, was it a great day to be on the water!
The weather was beautiful!
From Roosevelt Island there are amazing view of the city's architecture- like this hospital.
I was enjoying my walk- but next time I think I'll bring my bike... talk about the perfect pathway!
Although if I was on a bike, it'd be a lot harder to take pictures, right?
So maybe walking is the way to go!
As I made my way north along the water...
I came across some interesting tid-bits...
Like this little figure! She and some of her friends are anchored into the river just off the shore!
And a little further down the path is this ship's hull built into the shore... isn't it fun?
Now, I realize I've shared a ton of pictures from the west side of the island... so here's what the east side looks like:
Yay Queens!
Thanks for joining me on my little walk around Roosevelt Island- I have a few more photos to share tomorrow. I hope you had a great weekend- thanks for visiting!
